We know from Stolen by an Alien Callie has been brutalized past some other alien species. So, I knew it was going to be bad. My middle hurt so much for her. I cannot even imagine what she went through. She was truly a potent heroine to come out of all of that and become an astonishing mate to Zadeon. I really capeesh the writer "hinted" at or minimized the descriptions of her captivity. It was bad enough just imagining what happened.

And let me tell you, this author knows how to write a perfect swoon-worthy hero. Zadeon was astonishing! He did everything right for Callie. I hurt for him likewise seeing his mate in the condition she is and not being able to do anything about it. Simply he truly did. He was in that location for her and became the stone she needed to pull herself out of her depression and move forward and realize she is Non what happened to her....she is so much more than that and it is only ane part of her life.

"You expect me to abandon you? Wouldn't arraign me for abandoning you? Callie, you don't demand me. You've proven you can make a life without me. But, my picayune dream, at that place is no scenario in which I don't choose you. I will not alive my life without yous."

He was the perfect mate. He knew Callie was his from a very young age. He dreamed of her and no other adult female would do.
"I was highly sought-later on later battles.  I never joined with a female though, and certainly no Gryfala."
"Why non?"
"Why not any of them?"
"They weren't you." She grabs my tail and stills it.  "What am I?" I revel in her touch on.  "The other half of my soul."

And oh lord...I had a feeling I knew what was going to happen. There were hints throughout the book and I kept praying that information technology wasn't going to exist true. Just, information technology was. I cannot even imagine THAT scenario. Callie'due south initial reaction was totally understandable. And Zadeon...did I mention he was the PERFECT hero? He was and so amazing and potent and his reaction was so sweet and heartfelt. He was there for her and helped her to pull through it and realize what it truly was...a blessing.

I absolutely LOVED book ane. And while this ane was good, it didn't work quite too for me. I felt the first 25-twoscore% of the volume was disjointed and inclement. I had to go back and reread the first two chapters to brand sure I wasn't missing something. After nigh the forty% mark, information technology began to get improve though I don't think it always reached the writing level of volume ane. I'm not sure what happened here. That's non to say I still didn't savor the book because I did. I will definitely keep reading this series and I'm looking forward to the next book. However, I tin can say, I really take no involvement in Gracie unless she improves. She's just non the blazon of heroine I like. I actually hate Dohrien was paired with her...just my two cents.

**I would recommend reading book 1 beginning. This is non a standalone.

Synopsis
Callie was previously captured by disgusting, snakey aliens who wanted zippo more than to violate her in every conceivable style. And so yea, rape plays a big role in this story.

Cue Zaedon the rescuer who, well, rescues her. She won't talk, won't allow anyone touch on her, and is covered in snake bites and non the lager/cider kind of snake fleck. Although what the hell would make anyone ever want to beverage beer mixed with cider is beyond me. Only the thought of that turns my tummy.

gross

But I'm off track. Actually, there's not too much more to tell. Woman won't talk to alien, alien has already impressed on woman due to some espn like connexion, alien convinces adult female to talk, woman and alien dance, and at that place'southward other stuff.

And when I say other stuff, I mean A LOT of other stuff. Equally in too much other stuff. As in hither's where the editor should have stepped in and been like, ok, we take a good premise hither, so let's work THAT and mankind information technology out. Non let'south exist all over the place.

Heroine: Callie. Poor matter. What she went through? She deserved every single fleck of the infinite she was looking for. Her road has not been piece of cake.

Heroes: Zaedon. He was fine. Improve than fine. Patient, strong, practiced, etc. Read most alien descriptions and you'll hitting boom on head. Perhaps he's better than virtually. What he does towards the mid-cease of the book? Human. Massive props.

congrats snoop dog

Why information technology did or didn't work for me: At the finish, I felt like the volume wandered all over the identify. And past wandered I mean meandered which I guess ways the aforementioned thing equally wandered which means I am wandering and beingness redundant. Then I felt that damn book was pretty much similar this. It coulda been good. I was bored at the end. Reel information technology in, lady. As Tim Gunn says, edit, edit, edit.

Wow! Seriously. I loved this book and was blown away by the slap-up story this writer told.

The H is a j/p alien with horns, scales, claws and a tail. He's super strong and absolutely devoted to the h. They've been dreaming of each other their whole lives. His offset word was her name. He loves her with everything he is and he treated her exceptionally well. Though he never met her, he'due south been faithful to her and never been with some other woman. She is quite only "information technology" for him! I loved information technology!

Wow! Seriously. I loved this volume and was diddled abroad past the great story this author told.

The H is a j/p conflicting with horns, scales, claws and a tail. He'south super strong and absolutely devoted to the h. They've been dreaming of each other their whole lives. However, this isn't a "safe" book. (view spoiler)[ The h was brutally raped multiple times by other aliens. The H rescues her and kills the rapists. The rapes aren't described and happened in the first book. This volume begins with her rescue and follows the journey of her emotional trauma as she heals and begins to love the H. He is soooo patient, sweetness and kind to her. At times it was very touching peculiarly as she ended up significant from the rape and had to deal with the trauma of carrying a child conceived in rape. This H is amazing. (hide spoiler)]

ii stars... UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH. THIS Volume. WHY AMANDA MILO, WHY? I could easily have rated this book -20 stars for the shit this author pulled, simply I am giving it two considering I did think that in that location were expert parts to this story.

WARNING, MAJOR SPOILERS Ahead.

Where do I fifty-fifty begin?

The heroine, all off page before this book begins, is taken from earth and sold to snake men. She is so brutally raped, repeatedly. The snake men seize with teeth her all over her body, including her nipples and nether region. They forcefulness her to perform all kinds of acts confronting her will, degrading her in every style imaginable. She is a mess when the hero outset finds her, and she continues to be a mess for a long fourth dimension after, which was totally understandable given what she went through. Most of this story is about her healing and learning to live her life after these horrific events.

That'southward all fine, and I actually enjoyed some parts of the story...until...

We find out that she's pregnant with the rapists' baby. This part was foreshadowed quite a fleck at the get-go and I knew it was coming, but was desperately hoping I was wrong.

This is where the story took a very PRO-LIFE direction. I absolutely do not call back that a adult female should be forced to requite birth and take care of her rapist'south child. I am so disgusted with this author for taking this book in that direction, I could vomit.

The heroine is Absolutely DEVASTATED when she learns she's pregnant. She immediately realizes that it couldn't be the hero's babe and knows that information technology has to be the upshot of the snake men's rape. She rightfully freaks the fuck out, cries, becomes a mess once more, etc. She has every right to feel that manner. She has every right to not desire to be a mother to the baby who wasn't wanted and would forever remind her of her rape and torture at the easily of monsters.

Unfortunately for her, the entirety of everyone seems to think otherwise. While she is miserable, the hero is all almost the baby. He wants to keep the baby and be the father. He really is a good hero, but this takes it a footstep too far. He doesn't really give the heroine much of a choice... just maxim that she will regret aborting the fetus. He seems to downplay just how fucked upward the heroine was by what happened to her with platitudes almost how the baby will be half her, etc. I was but And then DISGUSTED past all of this. It was painful to read.

And so, the infant is born and has many ophidian-like features. Like hello, couldn't the writer have AT Least fabricated the baby not be a fucking one-half-snake creature? Noooooo...the heroine had to keep suffering. She is immediately freaked when she sees the baby, but once again, the hero forces her to become over her VERY UNDERSTANDABLE reaction, and nurse the baby. The infant that has FANGS AND A FORKED TONGUE Similar HER RAPISTS. NOOOOOOOOOOO. HELL TO THE NOOOOOOOOO. THIS IS Not OKAY.

Ofc, the heroine ends up loving the baby, the residue of her reactions are basically brushed nether the carpeting, and they end up such a fucking happy family unit that it's disgusting. Literally.

But, I will say it over again, this is not ok. This story is not ok. This story is a pro-life agenda in book form.

I am extremely disgusted with Amanda Milo for the direction that this story took.

Safety info: heroine was with OM (her first love) while on earth who died before she was abducted. Hero always had dreams near the heroine, and knew virtually OM as well. Hero stayed a virgin because he knew that the heroine was out there somewhere. Heroine was brutally raped prior to the start of this story and ends up pregnant with rapists' baby.

The first 40-l% was a disjointed mess. I had trouble figuring out what was going on, when and with whom. I tin't imagine dropping in without reading the beginning volume.

Information technology sort of straightened itself out at that betoken, however the way this author writes conversations makes it hard for me to effigy out who is talking at times. That makes for a very hard read considering I feel I have to become back and figure it out and information technology disrupts the menstruation.

Zadeon is admittedly perfect. Sure he was a pretty gross sounding alien but his actions were perfect. He absolutely is the only reason I finished this book.

Callie...she went through something too horrible to imagine. I honestly practise not think I could have lived through it. And so I do not fault her for being and so fucked upwardly the Unabridged book. Merely honestly, I like my romance novels to be a bit easier to read. The heroine wallowing in her misery for almost the whole story is miserable to me. Certain I might exist an insensitive bitch for wanting her to "get over it" but I am not reading an conflicting romance story for such malaise and sorrow. The constant reminders of the atrocities are just not enjoyable. Her selfishness and beingness so horrible to Z in her head was too much for me. I get why she could not go by it apace or easily, but it is not my idea of a dandy read.

The elephant in the room...I HATED. I saw information technology coming from the very starting time hint and it acquired feet the entire book. Zadeon handled it every bit perfectly as possible, but information technology was as well much for me. It sucked the life out of any edifice romance and future for me.

I enjoyed the epilogue but the author still wrote it in a way that it took work figuring out who was saying what about whom. I am certain it makes sense to her as she invented the story, but she needs a proficient beta reader. But the epilogue left me feeling much better than the unabridged book did. The second epilogue was very intriguing and may make me want to read that book.

Mixed reaction #two. I was mixed on the beginning book, Stolen by an Alien, and this one had me leaning one way and so the other, too.

"Z": Loved him. He was all spines and scales and horns and tail and breathing burn. How Milo managed to brand that seem like a caress-bug, I don't know, but she did. I especially enjoyed the surreptitious - and non so clandestine - "scenting." Those were a few LOL moments. His personality and backstory emerge more throughout the book, and I liked the details.

His personality and backstory emerge more than throughout the book, and I liked the details.

Callie and her situation: Hard to read at times, all the same I felt some of the struggle seemed legitimate. Trauma, depression, horror, shame, anger, fright. Lots of emotions are processed. I felt overwhelmed with Callie at times. Only once she finally feels ameliorate, I felt her backstory was curt-changed. Plus, her snark and attitude sounded suspiciously like Angie from book one. In future books, I promise that there are unlike personalities that sally, and I have high hopes for superior, dry Dohrein and sarcastic, abrasive Gracie. Behind airtight doors with these two volition be very enlightening, I remember.

I loved Z, our hero. He was very possessive, sweet and understanding alien blastoff. But this side was reserved merely for callie. For others he was ferocious and dangerous gladiator. I felt so much for callie and what she went through and how much she suffered.
I liked how tender and caring Z was to her. He was also a virgin. At that place are then many sweet and funny scenes in this story. Along with angst and injure.
Recommended for all who love aliens and fantasy books.

I did really like the kickoff book in this series and also others past this author so I will definitely read this author once more just this i simply was not to my gustation unfortunately it happens.

This story centres on 1 of the previous rescued woman Callie, she has been seriously brutalised by her snake captors and has been left with deep scars.
Her mate is Zadeon a quondam gladiator the previous book hero's brother and he is totally gruff and growly with everyone except Callie that is.
In fact, Zadeon is the best function of this and without him, I might have not finished this he is definitely patience personified and too so god damned adorable in all his ways.

Callie has been hearing his song in her head without realising all of her life and this story is all about healing from by traumas and forging new pathways.
Zadeon is the perfect alien book young man and Callie was likeable enough I only had a fleck of a disconnect and was slightly bored throughout.

The backwash from the abuse was done well and sympathetically simply I also felt that I had been dropped into a story with limited explanations and as such you really exercise need to read the commencement book in this series for further description.
It'southward been a while since I've read the previous book so I could take done with the refresh myself.
This doesn't really work as a stand-alone in my opinion and yous volition need to read volume ane before this.

I also found myself getting turned effectually and confused during some conversations over who was speaking and with all the extra characters involved this could get a tad disruptive at times, I also wasn't a fan of the twist either, This was just Ok for me but I did finish it.

The Skilful
-Kindle Unlimited (if yous're signed upward for it).

-Tackles a very serious subject with intendance. This book overlaps with events from the commencement volume, Stolen past an Alien ("SbaA"). Information technology is imperative that you read that book first (more than below). The heroine, Callie, has been abducted from Earth and suffers a horrific rape (details of which are shared in mini-flashbacks and dialogue, not shown in item). Writing almost the brutal rape of a heroine is never an easy task, but I take said that whatsoever topic in romance tin potentially piece of work if written with care and skill. Ms. Milo has not shied away from playing the necessary beats, and she has really delved into the emotional trauma that Callie (and Zadeon) suffer in a sensitive mode and fabricated their HEA feel genuine and earned by the end.

-The romance has hearts (makes sense when you lot read information technology). Zadeon, a Rakhii gladiator and brother of the hero in the start book, has always dreamed of his wingless Gryfala, and when he hears of slavers abducting many Gryfala, he rushes out, knowing he will meet his dream. He's a fantastic, agreement hero who never, always wavers and that is exactly what Callie needs. She is a survivor who has suffered her ain tragedies before she fifty-fifty leaves Earth, but she finds the will to make information technology through. I connected with both of them and every painful beat made me ache for them. I was impressed at the level of emotion I felt for them, which I wasn't expecting when I started this series.

-Still enough sense of humour to lighten the serious discipline matter. Before I have you thinking this was an angst-o-rama, the secondary characters, all introduced in the first book, help give some rest to this story. The glimpses of their ain banter and struggles helped the story menstruum and not feel like sadness all the time.

-Tease for the future. At that place's a chapter at the finish that gives a glimpse into the futurity that has me intrigued and willing to come across what Ms. Milo will come up up with. She'south impressed me and so far.

The Bad and Everything in Between
-Not a standalone. The beginning of the story needed more setup. If I had not read SbaA, I would take been completely lost. In that location'southward no real info given in this book to permit the reader empathise how they came together and why they're being housed in captivity now. Even if a romance is supposed to weave into an overarching storyline, it should work as a separate story. This is too dependent on the showtime book.

-Editing a little more wouldn't hurt. At that place's some dangling story threads once more like the first book that I don't await to larn more of in futurity books and aren't necessary to this story, and so they could have been taken out to tighten upwards the narrative. I would have loved some fourth dimension spent on farther defining this 'poetry every bit well as the private species in this series. Likewise, additional editing could take corrected some grammatical errors and questionable circumlocution (aka words that don't be) that frankly took me out of the moment. Sometimes big words aren't necessary. Just the right ones.

-More isolated than commencement book. Considering they're in captivity throughout this volume, at that place'due south no action series, no sense of movement. Information technology made me restless at times, though I appreciate that this was meant to be near Callie's recovery/re-emergence, I still missed the run a risk of the showtime book.

Really enjoyed Zadeon and Callie'southward story. She has a lot to overcome, only Zadeon is utterly sweet and patient with her.

The beginning of this book had a rocky start. I was dislocated at first, and there were time jumps that took me a bit to catch onto. You would definitely need to read Stolen by an Alien (Book 1) to grasp what happened, though it's still a fiddling confusing. Afterward a fleck, the story smooths out and takes off from there. Part of this is because the timelines overlap from the outset book, so there is backtracking as these characters all appeared together at the aforementioned fourth dimension, and non wanting to write a repeat of what happened in book one.

Love the secondary characters. Of class, we have Arokh and Angie from the get-go volume, but besides Gracie and Dohrein. These ii are hilarious. I cracked up when Gracie exclaimed, "I demand 1 of those!' and Dohrein'south reaction later. We're experiencing their human relationship in this book, as well.

I'g really hoping Crispin has a book. I honey the hobs. Like, really...actually like them. They accept wings, and claws, and fangs, and wings, and sexual practice powder and....wings! Except for Crispin...poor guy. But he has the other stuff, and I would really, really similar to see his book and his experience on Earth as he tries to blend in. From the second Epilogue...I also can't wait for Baskin and Tika! Curious how this will play out.

Overall, it'southward a fun read. Again, don't judge these books by their covers (Lamentable Amanda!), but the content within. These are great escape books..

My heart bankrupt over and again for the heroine, and on the other side I was amazed over and over again at the hero. Though sad this love story is beautiful. I highly recommend this book but be warned information technology has some tuff subjects. I can't await for the next book which is nearly this hero and heroines son and after this book I can not look, I'thousand glad he is getting a book, I don't encounter how that book could exist anything simply amazing ...more

Nosotros've all felt in and recognise the symptoms of find a brand new author to fan daughter over. Well, that's what happened to me when I started reading Amanda Milo's Stolen by an Conflicting series. She gets me. She understands that I love a romance involving an alien that's really a fleck alien.

I really liked these books, they were a lot of fun with heroines I liked and some alien heroes who despite their massive stature were adorable and easy to beloved. Each story does seem to follow a very similar design, however, I enjoyed that pattern and would have happily read iii more of these books i after the other.

At the moment there are 3 books in this serial (all of which I read in well-nigh 2 days! I was addicted) and below in a rundown of each book.

Volume #1 Stolen by an Conflicting

Alien type: Dragon/Lizard, known as Rakhii
Alien appendages: Scales, horns, fangs, genitalia I'll let you discover for yourselves!
Hobbies: Getting their scents on their Mates. Making their Mate the most sexually satisfied woman in the milky way.

It'due south hard non to fall in beloved with Arokh; for a seven foot dragon human with pointy teeth and horns he's adorable. Information technology's a great introduction to the series and it got me immediately hooked.

Volume #two Rescued by an Alien

Alien blazon: Dragon/Cadger, known every bit Rakhii
Alien appendages: Scales, horns, fangs, ballocks I'll let you discover for yourselves!
Hobbies: Getting their scents on their Mates. Making their Mate the well-nigh sexually satisfied woman in the galaxy.

In the second book in the series, we are sticking with the Rakhii, this fourth dimension nosotros have Zadeon. Zadeon is a fierce gladiator, whose spent then much time as a warrior that he's lost his hearing. However, scary as he is, he turns into a marshmallow when around his traumatised mate.

Book #3 Won past an Alien

Conflicting blazon: Dragon/Lizard, known as Rakhii
Alien appendages: Scales, horns, fangs, genitalia I'll let yous discover for yourselves!
Hobbies: Getting their scents on their Mates. Making their Mate the most sexually satisfied adult female in the milky way.

Conflicting Type: Kangaroo like
Conflicting appendages: Legs like a kangaroo, when angry his peel changes color and becomes a deadly toxin. When happy/horny changes to attract his mate
Hobbies: Being ambrosial. Making his mate happy.

That'southward right, we get two aliens for the toll on one in Won by an Alien. The cute Tac'Mot, who has legs like a kangaroo. Then at that place is Brax a Rakhii. This isn't an entirely harmonious pairing at first every bit Rakhii aren't known to share well. But for the sake of their mate they requite it their all.

I don't desire any body to read this review and exist turned off from the book or anything Amanda Milo cause she is awesome and so are her characters. Regardless of my feelings here I am totally invested in the series. But don't permit that stop yous, exercise give it a shot cause I'thou still going to.

Words fail to express how much I enjoyed this book. I will be stalking this author for new releases some thing HARD!

I certainly do not empathise some of the negative reviews. I enjoyed this book more than the first, and the first was very skillful. I think the author showed restraint in the flashbacks to Callie'south rape and did not oversell the sex scenes as some do. She has successfully created a totally 'alien' backdrop with totally 'alien' characters that has been washed by merely a few. I think the author has a lot of promise and I wait forwards to more.

This is certainly non your typical conflicting romance. The human relationship between Zadeon and Callie starts off after she has been rescued from aliens who have brutally abused and raped her. Thus, with a damaged heroine, nosotros get to encounter her journey to recovery and her struggles with accepting Zadeon despite how gentle he is with her. And considering of this, the romance is slow, and signs of Callie's trauma is e'er present in her interactions with Zadeon. With this in mind, I would say this

This is certainly non your typical alien romance. The relationship between Zadeon and Callie starts off later on she has been rescued from aliens who have brutally abused and raped her. Thus, with a damaged heroine, we get to see her journeying to recovery and her struggles with accepting Zadeon despite how gentle he is with her. And because of this, the romance is ho-hum, and signs of Callie's trauma is ever present in her interactions with Zadeon. With this in mind, I would say this volume might not be for someone looking for a typical alien erotica.

I gave this book three stars because, compared to the start book, the writing was unusually choppy. It just didn't accept the same flow equally the outset book, and that did impact my enjoyment. I think this book also lacked a bit in plot - the focus was on Callie'south and Zadeon's developing relationship, only that's about it. Beyond that, at that place really wasn't too much going on. I sympathise it may be because they are all stuck within the Gryfala inquiry facility, only I think the author'southward selection to have them all end up there is going to hinder future novels.

I am willing to give the author another chance and read more than in this series because I am still curious to come across what happens to some of the other characters.
